April Foodzie Box

On my way home from the airport on Saturday around midnight (that's really Sunday morning, but that's neither here nor there), I made sure to stop and pick up the mail because I knew my Foodzie box was waiting for me. I didn't even unpack my clothes before I opened it up to check out what was inside.
This month's theme was an outdoor entertaining box.
  • Two bottles of extra virgin olive oil
  • Two bags of farro
  • Gourmet Ketchup
  • Green Tomato Relish
  • Bacon Jam
  • Smoked Paprika
Honestly, I was a little bit disappointed with the contents of this box. Four of the six things that I got, I'd already seen in previous boxes. In particular, I now have three bags of farro that I really have no good idea what to do with. However, I am fond enough of the two new things that I'm okay with it.
Since a couple of the limited items I currently have in my fridge just happen to be eggs and mayonnaise, deviled eggs seemed like a natural choice. This paprika is not too spicy and just a little sweet, a great combination. Plus there's a ton of it in that container. I can't wait to try it out on something else!
One of my farro bags had popped open and littered the box with some grains. Instead of being annoyed by it, I decided to take advantage and use them in the photograph. I think I might try to make a farro risotto out of this stuff sometime next week.
I just recently purchased a Kindle edition of The Homemade Pantry: 101 Foods You Can Stop Buying and Start Making, which has a recipe for mayonnaise. I sense a kitchen adventure coming up.

For the life of me, I cannot remember what I did with this relish the first time I got it. I know that I liked it it the first time
I think I'm going to have to make some baked fries one night for dinner next week!
I tried this last night with my eggs for dinner. It's good and everything but I really prefer my bacon crispy.

What are your thoughts on turning things like bacon into a spread? Interested, intrigued, repulsed?
