Turkey Trot Training: Week 2

Diet
Last week was good, despite the weekly weigh-in showing me as up. I'm not overly concerned, as I suspect it was water retention due to muscle soreness. I'm sure this week will be better. The weekly meal planner is here I print it out and keep it on my fridge so I can use it as a checklist when I pack my lunches. :)

Last Week's Training
Monday (9/5) - 2 miles @ recovery, 30 minutes PSP
This is the other day of the week where I'd normally go to Zumba but as it was labor day, the class was cancelled. Instead, I did 30 minutes of PSP and then a leisurely shoeless 2 miles on the treadmill.

Tuesday (9/6) - 5x400m @ 8:27, Circuit Training style
I did 5x400m @ 8:27 (3K pace) this week for a total of 3.25 miles (including warm-up/cooldown miles). For the "rest" periods:
10 x Pull-Ups w/55lb assist
25 x Split Squat Jumps
10 (a leg) x Barbell Lunge and Press with 27lbs
12 x Bench Dips

Wednesday (9/7) - 30-30 Intervals - 8x30s at 5K pace with 30s rest at 6.0mph
I'm pretty sure this is my favorite workout of the week. It's just so quick, easy and engaging.

Thursday (9/8) - Zumba
I'm not sure why there aren't more people at Zumba class! Elena is a great instructor and the class is a ton of fun. This was the second week in a row where it was just me and her. I felt a little pooped that day, but I pushed through. I slept like a log afterwards.

Friday (9/9) - 4 miles @ base pace (10:22)
I got home early enough to go for a run before the sun set and I even managed to convince Eric to ride alongside me with his bike. I averaged a 10:22 pace throughout and got to have company. It was a good run. :)

Saturday (9/10) - Rest
First day off since last Friday. I took full advantage of this planned rest day. I even took a nap!

Sunday (9/4) - 4 miles @ 9:27 (accidentally in my half-marathon pace range)
Beepy and I were having a fight that morning. Beepy refused to acknowledge that I was running at a faster than 12:00 mile pace for the first half a mile (I was running at least a 9:00 min/mile pace!) and kept beeping at me in an annoyed fashion telling me to speed up. He finally got over his satellite acquiring issues only to beep annoyingly at me to slow down as I ran downhill. Even with our morning spat, it was a lovely run. It was much cooler than I've been used to, so I was actually able to pick up some speed unintentionally. It made me look forward to the next few weeks of running in fall weather!
