Deck Garden Updates
It's nearing the end of the growing season for my plants I think. That combined with the fact that my pots seem to have serious drainage issues are causing my deck garden to look less than verdant.
This pot is still swamped. Notice the tiny puddle under it? I did that by tilting the pot on its side for a few moments. I guess it's something I'll have to mark down in my deck garden lessons learned post next week.
The excess of water in the carrot pot is turning them yucky colors. :(
The rainstorms we had last week broke one of my tomato plants branches off. I'm highly displeased with these tomatoes...between the rot and this I'm about to uproot them and forget about it until next year.
My cherry tomato plant is nearing the end of its growth cycle. There aren't many little fruits left and my harvesting rate has seriously declined. I consider it to be my greatest deck garden success this year, so I'm not too upset about this development. :)
I still have peppers growing though! I should be able to harvest about four more of the full sized vegetables before the growing season comes to a close

Sushi Fridays!
I'm instituting a new weekly meal tradition:
My favorite: Salmon, Avocado and Spicy Tuna Maki
Fridays are now my Sushi days, whether I actually get to eat out at lunch or even if I have to get takeout. I've got to get fish in my diet somehow, right?

My weekend is looking pretty busy between some OT at work, the PUMA 5 miler on Saturday and my Mom's Birthday Lunch on Sunday. I'm particularly excited for her gathering since the theme is Garden Fresh/Made From Scratch.  I'm also planning to avoid the mall and subsequently stop myself from purchasing more super cute clothes. :) How about everyone else? Got any big weekend plans? Lemme know in a comment down below!
