PUMA 5 Miler Training: Week 4

a.k.a. the week that wasn't.

Eric had been rather sick the week before this past one. We'd been trying our best to stay apart and not get me sick.  I knew we'd failed the moment I felt the tickle and scratch in the back of my throat Monday morning last week. I stayed home that day, and got extra rest hoping I could fend it off.

Nope.

No amount of Airborne or sleep was going to stop that cold. I didn't follow my meal plan at all last week; nothing seemed appetizing. I suppose that's what happens when you can't breathe through your nose to taste anything!

But let's push that all aside and move on! I did the best thing I could for my body last week and that was to take it easy and recuperate.

Last week's training
Monday (7/11) - Cross Training
I went for a lunchtime walk on my day of working from home. It was quite pleasant out, but then again I might be part lizard. I can't ever get comfortably warm unless I'm under a blanket or basking in the sun.

Tuesday (7/12) - 23 treadmill minutes
I needed to do something small just to keep myself from feeling too gross. I skipped yoga, though. I didn't want to risk infecting anyone else with the horrible cold.

Wednesday (7/13) - rest day
I lazed about, too congested and tired to do much of anything.

Thursday (7/14) - 35 treadmill minutes
It helped my congestion and it exhausted me enough that I was able to sleep through the night!

Friday (7/15) - ressst day
I had to be up early for a review at work. I spent the entire morning trying to be cognizant and present at my review.

Saturday (7/16) - 25 treadmill minutes
Seriously this treadmill was one of my very best investments!

Sunday (7/17) - more rest!
We did go to see HP7 though. :) And I knew I'd be back on my feet the next day!

Total mileage: treadmill miles aren't real miles.

This week I've got a 5K with my brother on Saturday. I'm looking forward to it!

YAY for not being sick this week! :D
