Soft Serve Strawberry-Banana Frozen Yogurt

I've been craving cool and creamy quite a lot now that summer's here. A couple of weeks ago, I was wandering through the local grocery store's ice cream aisle, when I came to the frozen fruits and found Dole's newest bag, Precut Frozen Strawberries and Bananas.

Thus my version of a soft serve strawberry-banana frozen yogurt was born.

Soft Serve Strawberry-Banana Frozen Yogurt
by Sarah
1 cup (140g) frozen strawberries and bananas
1/2 cup (4oz) vanilla yogurt
1 tablespoon (15mL) orange juice
1 strawberry, hulled and quartered
2 mint leaves (optional)

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse to combine. Depending on your blender, you may need to pause and scrape down the sides to obtain the correct texture

You could easily substitute plain greek yogurt into this recipe, but depending on your tastes you might need to add a touch of sweetener (honey, agave, etc.). I use Stonyfield Farm French Vanilla to make it, so added sweeteners aren't necessary for me.

If you can't find the frozen strawberry banana mix, and you have leftover bananas or strawberries, you can freeze those. Simply slice them up, place them on some parchment paper on a baking tray and stick them into the freezer until frozen solid. Then you can put them into a freezer bag for storage. The baking sheet trick prevents them from freezing into one solid fruity mass. :)

What's your favorite cool and creamy flavor combination? Which is your favorite, soft-serve or regular?
