The Weekend in Food

I realized this weekend that I spend a lot of time talking about what I bake and my exercise on my blog, and precious little time talking about what I actually eat. Seems a little silly, since this is a "health" blog. My baked goods are a minuscule piece of my diet in a week!  As a general rule, I eat roughly 5-6 small meals a day with each being somewhere between 300-420 calories.


I have several go-to recipes that I don't need to write down or put much effort into and I've photographically documented a few of my meals from this past weekend for today.

The Gold Standard in Breakfasts:
Whole Oat Groats with
1 tbsp. peanut butter,
a small banana,
and a cup of black coffee.

Midmorning snack standard:
Kashi Cocoa Beach Granola w/ 6 oz of
Stonyfield French Vanilla yogurt
This satisfies my chocolate cravings!

When I have time on the weekends, I like to perk
my taco salads up with a fresh mixture of red onion,
chopped cilantro and chopped tomato.

I love avocados. I don't buy them often because I find
they have to be eaten with a couple days of purchasing.

The Taco Salad:
It starts with a big ol' bowl of lettuce, 3 oz. of freshly ground
chicken breast and a pinch of cheese. Yes, I actually
grind up the chicken breast myself.
