What is it about showers that get your brain churning?

I read several articles about the fat acceptance movement yesterday. Like a cow with its cud, I've been mulling it about in my brain ever since.  One of the articles pointed out that humans evolved as a hunting and gathering species. Obviously, we no longer expend as much energy as we used while hunting and gathering food and it was posited that we as humans should just engineer less nutritional foods to accommodate this.

Really? That's hardly a solution. No, I contend that that is a lame attempt to absolve yourself of responsibility for what you eat. It's an attempt to shift the blame from yourself to an external force when you are unhappy with something. Recognize it for what it is.

I'd like to point out that we are in fact engineering less nutritional food with an excess of empty calories. We call it processed food.  It contains too many simple sugars, too much fat and none of the good vitamins and minerals that keep your body running like a well-oiled machine.

Now I understand where the fat acceptance movement is coming from in theory. I agree and believe that it is possible to be heavier and still be healthy but you tread a fine line. I also agree and believe that American society idealizes an unattainable figure for both sexes. By that token, I believe that metabolic health should be paramount to appearance.  If you are in perfect metabolic health at 100lbs or 300+lbs then I'll put my foot in my mouth and shut up.  If you're not though, you shouldn't be preaching acceptance of an unhealthy ideal, big or small.
